Schuylkill Ballet Theatre to present
26th Anniversary performance of
“The Nutcracker Ballet”

Schuylkill Ballet Theatre will present two full length ballet performances of “The Nutcracker” for the 26th consecutive year November 26th and 27th at The Pottsville Area High School Auditorium. The Saturday evening performance is 7:00 PM and the Sunday show is 2:00 PM. Enjoy face painting and bring your smiles and camera for photo opportunities after the Sunday matinee show.

The Artistic Director/ Choreographer, Anissa Martell, is enjoying her third year with Schuylkill Ballet Theatre and has brought a new energy to the ballet with unique scenes and surprises in this year’s holiday performance. See how Clara’s dream unfolds after she receives gifts of new ballet shoes and a Nutcracker doll from her favorite relative, Drosselmeyer. Drift with Clara through the magical lands of “Snow”, “Sweets”, and other far away places. Meet the “Sugar Plum Fairy” and other favorites from this beloved classic.

Ms. Anissa and the ballet members have been practicing since August to offer a quality performance complete with many new and vibrant costumes and fresh choreography. Thirty area ballet students, local ballet teachers, actors, and others have been cast for “The Nutcracker Ballet”. Two professional guest artists are thrilled to be performing in both shows. Hannah Nieh has performed with various companies including American Ballet Theatre, Ballet Chicago, and Richmond Ballet. Nicholas McGough most recently finished a national tour and has performed internationally. He also appeared on the hit television show “So You Think You Can Dance”. SBT is proud to feature these two very talented dancers in this year’s “Nutcracker” ballet!

The Schuylkill Ballet Theatre is a non-profit organization devoted to making available this classical form of art to audiences of our surrounding communities. The Ballet accepts students that attend any dance studio and provides additional avenues of instruction and performance experiences. New members are always welcomed.

The SBT, is excited to bring the 26th Nutcracker performance to our community audience.
